One December we were out of our own home during construction, and I wanted to paint smaller works for Holiday gifts and tree ornaments.  With matte board and acrylics I set to work creating tiny paintings of local scenes.  Voila!  I now paint on finished plywood, so they'll last forever.  Some end up framed, some with handmade hangers or ribbons.  I paint commissions: dogs, a favorite scene, favorite boat or car or home. Truly, any size at all.
